Sport and PE

instilling a love of participating

"Leaders promote healthy lifestyles. There is a very wide range of sporting opportunities on offer and pupils run a daily mile." Ofsted

We understand the importance of both physical and emotional well-being and the need to instil a love of participating in physical activity from an early age.

Usually we have two hours of PE every week however due to the importance of health and fitness we are having daily sport sessions. Each class will have at least one to two sessions with sport coaches every week, daily mile sessions to stay active and physical sport clubs within their bubble at lunch times. In addition to this weekly yoga sessions are timetabled to give pupils a chance to learn how to be grounded and calm in these challenging times.

We have amended the uniform to black leggings or jogging bottoms so the children are ready for sport every day without the need of an additional kit.

Sports Premium Impact

Schools are given extra funding to be spent specifically on sport. We report on how we spent the money, the impact it had and how we plan to sustain the effect in future years.
