sharing best practice

"Partnerships are an integral part of the school’s success. There are very strong links with local groups of schools and schools in the same deanery." Ofsted

Partnerships

Our partnerships are an integral part of the way we collaborate with our educational community. We belong to different groups from local partnerships such as the Poplar Partnership, serving the children of Poplar to ones that define our character such as the Tower Hamlets Deanery Group. We also work with educational partnerships across designations and locality, the M3 partnership.  Leaders get together, share and develop good practice that effects the education we provide.

We also reach out further and host visits from beyond local and national with schools further afield including from Gothenburg, Sweden and Kigali, Rwanda. The children learn how extended our family is, secular and Christian. Teachers in the past have been able to visit and learn from each other.

Tower Hamlets Deanery Partnership

The Tower Hamlets Deanery Partnership of Schools is part of the London Diocesan Board of Schools. There are 153 Church of England schools and 2 community schools across 18 London Local Authorities. You can find out more on their website here.(http://schools.london.anglican.org/)

Teacher Training

St Saviour's works in conjunction with Teaching London: LDBS SCITT to recruit and train teachers on the School Direct programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

What is School Direct?

Poplar Partnership

The vision of the Poplar Partnership is to develop a strong model of partnership working across our schools and between our schools and other community groups and members; to nurture a real sense of community, a place that people are proud to call home; to build great schools whose young people go on to lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives with the same opportunities and choices of young people born in any other area of the UK. Find out more.

Global Partnerships

We have been fortunate to work in partnerships through the British Council with ten schools in Rwanda. Leaders have visited Rwanda to learn about how the country has rebuilt its education system following the civil war and genocide.

The partnership enabled us to deepen our understanding of how we foster a deep sense of community across our Christian family. Our children developed an awareness of how schools can differ across the world, while sharing the unity of faith.

St Saviour's teachers were able to teach classes in Rwanda, take part in worship and visit historical sites. Rwandan teachers visited St Saviour's and other local schools to share leadership practice.

Parish of Poplar

We are a Church of England school and our associated churches are All Saints' and St Nicholas’ in the Parish of Poplar. We have services in All Saints Church, a fifteen minute walk away, on key dates in the church calendar.

St Paul's Cathedral

We have a music cultural partnership with St Paul's Cathedral. Our children benefit from the expertise and experience of some of the best singing teachers in the capital.

Think Equal

We work with Think Equal, an initiative to achieve change in education to introduce Social and Emotional Learning as a compulsory new subject.
